I mean, every word is important, all the way through... but the last scene is the flavor you leave in their mouth and can determine whether the reader wants to go out and by more from the same author or just pick up whatever else happens to be on the gendre's shelf. Kindof like a fabulous dessert with a horrible bitter/sour after-taste.
